The Wicklow Hoppers series of prints are centred on the cement silos that sit on the North Quay in Wicklow Harbour. These silos were constructed in the 1980’s for the import of foreign cement through Wicklow. Apparently this evoked strong opposition from Irish Cement Ltd who lodged an objection against the building of a third and fourth silo (Independent Newspaper, September 1983). According to that newspaper report, an average of three ships a month used to use the harbour and the silos for the importing of cement.

This print series celebrates the industrial heritage of Wicklow. These industrial constructions dominate the entrance to the river, and have come synonymous with Wicklow Town.

The prints consist of 2 different colour ways. Both printed on Fabriano No 5 paper, and are 4 colour prints.
